The king had an austere funeral, part of Islamic tradition. He was succeeded by his half brother, former Crown Prince Salman.
Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah was laid to rest Friday in a traditional, public funeral service at Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Grand Mosque in Riyadh
As NBC News reported:
After the funeral Abdullah's shrouded body was carried on a board. It will be taken to Al Oud cemetery and laid to rest in an unmarked grave.
